Propaganda used in a totalitarian regime

A totalitarian regime is a government which controls every aspect of the life of the people. the government usually consists of a facist dictator. who used many different strategys to manipulate the people. All facist dictators like Franco in Spain used things like propaganda to put a twist on things and make them more desirable to the people, they used propaganda to make the people think what the they wanted them to think. 
    There were many different strategy's when it came to propaganda in a totalitarian regime. in Spain Franco in particular employed new political strategies to mobilize public support, introducing propaganda techniques distributed through new mass media such as radio broadcasts, billboards, newsreels, and mass rallies. For example: they would use posters as a tool for propaganda

Francisco Franco Bahamonde born 4 December 1892 died 20 November 1975. he was commonly known as Franco. he was a Spanish military general and head of state of Spain. As head of state, Franco used the title Caudillo de España, por la gracia de Dios, meaning Leader of Spain, by the grace of God.



FRANCOS PROPAGANDA

On 21 September, Franco ordered a detour to free the besieged garrison at the Alcázar of Toledo, This controversial decision gave the Popular Front time to strengthen its defenses in Madrid but it was an important morale and propaganda success. Another thing Franco did was to secure his political future. he also appeased the Carlists by exploiting the Republicans' anti-clericalism in his propaganda, Franco was also challanged by other dictators through rival propaganda. Franco's common ground with Hitler was weakened by Hitler's propagation of Nazi mysticism and his trials to manipulate Christianity, which went against Franco's fervent commitment to defending Christianity and Catholicism.

Franco was seen as the Spanish head of state by Britain and France in February 1945. Franco lead spain by a dictatorship, in which he was the dictator. Franco first sought support from various groups. He initially garnered support from the fascist elements of the Falange, but stayed away from fascist ideology after the defeat of the Axis in World War II. Franco's administration marginalized fascist ideas in support of technocrats, many of whom were connected with Opus Dei, who promoted the economic modernization under Franco's rule.

IMPORTANT EVENTS, LIVING IN A TOTAlITARIAN REGIME

Francisco Franco who controlled the Spanish government until 1975 was a dictator. In September 1939, World War II broke out in Europe, and Hitler met Franco one time in Hendaye, France to discuss Spanish entry on the side of the Axis. Franco had many demands which included, food, military equipment, Gibraltar, French North Africa, and other demands. these demands proved too much and no agreement was reached between the two dictators. Franco told his provincial governors to make a list of Jews while he negotiated an alliance with the Axis powers. Franco gave Heinrich Himmler with a list of 6,000 Jews in Spain, for the Nazi's "Final Solution". The war ended in a nationalist dictatorship led by Franco.The country experienced rapid economic growth in the 1960s and early 1970s. When Franco died in 1975, the return of the Bourbon monarchy was lead by Prince Juan Carlos.
