Francisco Franco
Francisco Franco Bahamonde (4 December 1892 – 20 November 1975), was the general of the Spanish military and the head of Spain from 1947, until his death in1975. He became the youngest general in Europe in 1926 during the Rif war in Morocco.Franco was part of the Spanish Civil War that was between the military and the Government. He was born in Ferrol,Galicia, Spain, and he was in office from 5 February 1939 – 8 June 1973. In 1923, Franco replaced the Commander Millan Astray, and soon gained a good reputation for being a good strategist and administrator. Franco and other Spanish army officers joined eachother to take over the Poplualr Font Government, Franco was fully commited into taking them down. By 1973, Franco gave up his job as Prime Minister, but still remained as head of state and commander in chief of the military. Franco fell ill for a couple of years and eventually died on November 20th, 1975 by Parkinsons Disease.
